Dr Jianbin Liu

Dr. Jianbin Liu is a Consultant Endocrinologist who specializes in a comprehensive range of endocrine and metabolic disorders. His expertise encompasses conditions such as Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes, thyroid and parathyroid disorders, pituitary diseases, adrenal diseases, osteoporosis, osteopenia, and other related endocrine diseases. Dr. Liu has a particular interest in adrenal disorders, calcium issues, Cushing's syndrome, hypogonadism, menopause, metabolic disorders, obesity, osteoporosis, pituitary disorders, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), and conditions related to thyroid and weight gain.

Dr. Liu earned his medical degree and a master's degree in Medicine from Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou, China. He completed his endocrinology training at the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University. After practicing as a consultant endocrinologist in China for three years, Dr. Liu moved to Melbourne, where he undertook two years of advanced training in endocrinology at Eastern Health. He was admitted into the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2020.

Committed to providing expert, patient-centered care, Dr. Liu is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese, which enhances his ability to communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, particularly those familiar with Chinese culture. His academic contributions include authoring 13 peer-reviewed papers and participating in over 20 international drug trials. Dr. Liu is also an active reviewer for the Journal of Diabetes, reflecting his ongoing engagement with the latest research and developments within his field.
