Dr Hong Tran

Dr Hong Tran is a female obstetrician and gynaecologist based in East Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. She specialises in normal and high-risk pregnancies, as well as providing contraceptive advice following delivery and managing menstrual problems, pelvic pain, and vulval pathology.

Dr Tran obtained her MBBS degree from Melbourne University and completed her training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Women's Hospital. She served as the Principal Registrar of the Women's Hospital for two years, gaining extensive experience in all areas of her specialty. Dr Tran has a strong interest in women's health research, having been awarded a prestigious Young Investigator Award and a Victorian Travelling Fellowship in heavy menstrual bleeding.

As a mother of two young boys, Dr Tran is able to provide practical advice and real-life insights into the joys of motherhood. She understands the unique challenges faced by women during pregnancy and is committed to providing the highest quality care to her patients.

Dr Hong Tran offers a range of obstetric and gynaecological services at Epworth Freemasons. Her obstetrics services include low and high-risk obstetrics, as well as pre-pregnancy advice. In gynaecology, Dr Tran performs laparoscopic (keyhole) and open surgeries and manages ovarian and uterine pathology, including abnormal menstrual bleeding and endometriosis. She also provides contraceptive advice, including Implanon, Mirena, and Essure, and manages abnormal pap smears and vulval pathology.
