Dr. Hari Bandi is a highly skilled neurosurgeon based in Canberra, an Australian city. She earned her medical degree from Adelaide University before completing her Internship and Basic Surgical Training in Canberra. Later, she was selected for Neurosurgical Training at several major medical centers on the east coast, including Princess Alexandra Hospital, Westmead Hospital, and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and Sydney, Canberra Hospital, Macquarie Hospital, and Royal North Shore Hospitals. Her extensive training in these hospitals provided her with a comprehensive understanding of different healthcare systems and a broad and thorough exposure to various neurosurgical practices. Dr. Bandi has a strong foundation to contribute to her clinical, academic, research, and leadership pursuits.
Currently, Dr. Bandi is an active member of the Canberra surgical community, where she promotes surgical education, research, health advocacy, and service improvement across the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). She is the Women in Surgery Representative for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) in the ACT and also serves as the Neurosurgical Representative on the RACS ACT Audit of Surgical Mortality Committee (ACTASM). She is a clinical lecturer and examiner for the ANU Medical School and is an examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons clinical exam as well.
Dr Bandi works in a multidisciplinary environment, collaborating with other health professionals to promote comprehensive patient care. She participates in Multidisciplinary Neurooncology Meetings and leads the award-winning Spinal Physiotherapy Service at The Canberra Hospital. In addition, Dr. Bandi co-chaired the RACS ACT Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) in 2021. Dr. Bandi is passionate about promoting surgical advancement, research, and health advocacy.
