Dr Edward Tsoi

Meet Dr Edward Tsoi, a highly qualified and experienced gastroenterologist with a special interest in advanced endoscopy. After completing his medical degree at Monash University in 2006, he went on to train in Gastroenterology and General Medicine at Monash Health, Austin Health, and Northern Health in Victoria. He obtained his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2015 and a Master of Public Health from the University of Newcastle the same year.

Dr Tsoi's passion for advanced endoscopy led him to complete three years of subspecialty training at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne, where he developed expertise in Barrett’s oesophagus, endoscopic mucosal resections, and the use of double-balloon enteroscopy and capsule endoscopy to evaluate small bowel luminal disease.

In 2021, Dr Tsoi was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Melbourne for his thesis on “addressing controversies in management of Barrett’s oesophagus related dysplasia.”

Currently, Dr Tsoi works at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and Northern Health, managing a broad range of gastrointestinal problems, including liver disease, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease, and bowel cancer screening. Dr Tsoi is also involved in teaching medical students and has published extensively in international journals and presented at numerous national and international meetings.

Dr Tsoi is a dedicated professional who strives to deliver the highest quality care to his patients. His clinic consults bulk bill all pensioners and concession card holders. Dr Tsoi is fluent in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), allowing him to effectively communicate with a diverse patient population.
