Dr Cristina Moldovan is an experienced medical oncologist practicing in Hobart, Tasmania. She is currently associated with Icon Cancer Centre Hobart, Calvary Hospital, and Royal Hobart Hospital. Dr Moldovan specialises in the treatment of various solid tumour malignancies, including melanoma, gynaecological malignancies, brain and central nervous system malignancies, lung cancer, breast cancer, genitourinary cancer, and colorectal cancer.
Throughout her career, Dr Moldovan has actively participated in clinical research and is keen on introducing clinical trials to Icon Cancer Centre Hobart. She is also interested in fostering collaborative research with institutions such as the Menzies Institute. Dr Moldovan is dedicated to providing personalized and patient-centered care to her patients.
Dr Moldovan completed her specialist training at esteemed cancer care institutions in Victoria, including the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Research Institute and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. She also underwent training at the Royal Hobart Hospital, where she has been working for the past few years. In July 2018, she became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
Dr Moldovan graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy 'Carol Davila' (UMPCD) in Bucharest, Romania. She obtained the Australian Medical Council certificate in 2010. In addition to English, Dr Moldovan is fluent in Romanian, French, and Italian.
