A/Prof Arun Aggarwal

Dr. Arun Aggarwal is a distinguished Neurologist with a wealth of experience in healthcare. He currently serves as a Visiting Medical Officer at Hunters Hill Private Hospital, where he has been since 2007. His contribution to the hospital has been enormous, as he has been on the Medical Advisory Committee since 2008, and was even the Chairman of the Committee from 2010 to 2013. Dr. Aggarwal also currently works as a Visiting Neurologist at Concord Hospital, a Chronic Pain Specialist at the RPAH Pain Clinic, and a Rehabilitation Specialist at Balmain Hospital.

A graduate of the University of Sydney, Dr. Aggarwal received his PhD in 2004 and has since been active in research. He is a member of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine, and the Australasian Faculty of Pain Medicine. Dr. Aggarwal's work has been influential in the field of Electrophysiological Studies in Familial Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, and his primary paper, "Detection of pre-clinical motor neurone loss in SOD1 mutation carriers using motor unit number estimation," has been widely cited in international literature. He has written 3 book chapters on this subject and has also published widely on different topics.

Currently, Dr. Aggarwal is involved in a number of research projects, including Chronic Pain and Parkinson's Disease. His presentation of the paper in 1999 earned him the Australian Association of Neurologistics Young Investigator Award and was nominated for the Delsys Prize for excellent research in 2012. He is on the editorial board of the Journal of Clinical Trials, the current Chairman of the Australian & New Zealand Association of Neurologists Neuro-Rehabilitation Sub-Committee, and a member of the Medical Advisory Board of the Trigeminal Neuralgia Association (Australia).
