Dr Andrew French

Dr. Andrew French is an accomplished Interventional Cardiologist with a wealth of experience in providing cutting-edge clinical and procedural care to patients. After graduating from the University of Sydney in 2001, Dr. French underwent cardiology advanced training at the St George and Sutherland Hospitals, which culminated in an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at the Prince of Wales Hospital. Here, he acquired extensive skills in percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), CTO intervention, rotational atherectomy, and false aneurysm repair.

Dr. French later joined the Orange Health Service as an Interventional Cardiologist and Director of the Cath Lab. During this time, he undertook over 1100 PCI cases, more than 1500 angiograms, and established a 24-hour primary and rescue PCI service. Additionally, he supervised interventional fellowship trainees while serving in a senior role.

In March 2017, Dr. French was appointed as the Interventional Cardiologist for the Mid North Coast Local Health District in Port Macquarie Base Hospital, where he continues to provide expert clinical care.

Dr. French has contributed to several research publications, including "Delays in Treatment of Rural STEMI" and "Providing Primary and Rescue PCI in a Rural Base Hospital: A review of the first 24/7 Service in NSW." He is actively involved in research and teaching, serving as an examiner for the FRACP examinations and sharing his knowledge with the next generation of doctors.
