Dr Allan Hsu

Dr Allan Hsu was born in Taipei, Taiwan and received his medical degree from the University of Melbourne in Australia. He completed his residency at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney and his basic physician training at Prince of Wales Hospital and Liverpool Hospital. He then went on to obtain his fellowship in geriatric medicine at Bankstown Hospital and general medicine at Campbelltown Hospital through the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. With a total of 16 years of experience in general medicine and nine years in general and geriatric medicine, Dr Hsu has a keen interest in peri-operative medicine, cognitive assessment, dementia-related behavioural problems, polypharmacy, pain management, post-stroke optimization, and falls prevention. He is currently practicing as a geriatrician at Liverpool Hospital, a general physician at Campbelltown Hospital, and a consultant for ambulatory care with Sydney Local Health District. Aside from his clinical work, Dr Hsu is a member of The Australian and New Zealand Society for Geriatric Medicine and the American Geriatric Society. He is also committed to education and has served as a conjoint lecturer at both the University of New South Wales and Western Sydney University. Dr Hsu has also contributed to medical student education as an examiner at both universities. In addition to his English fluency, Dr Hsu is also fluent in Taiwanese and Mandarin, helping him connect more effectively with patients who speak those languages.
