Dr. Chowdhury holds an outstanding academic record, having completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) with honors at the University of Sydney. He furthered his education and pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree at the University of New South Wales, where his research revolved around the development of a bionic eye for blind patients. He was awarded his PhD on 15th December 2005.

Always striving to expand his knowledge and expertise, Dr. Chowdhury completed a research fellowship at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard University Medical School, specialising in retinal implant projects.
