Dr Sarah Walker is an experienced Gastroenterology and Hepatology specialist who currently serves as a staff specialist at the prestigious Canberra Hospital. She is also an associate at GastrotrACT. Dr Walker completed her medical degree from the University of Sydney in 2000, following which she started her internal medicine training in Canberra. Later, she pursued her advanced training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Westmead hospital in Sydney and Dublin, Ireland. In 2009, Dr Walker was awarded a fellowship from the prestigious Royal Australasian College of Physicians. She also has a PhD in Hepatology from Storr Liver Unit at Westmead hospital and the University of Sydney, which she achieved in 2014. During her doctoral studies, Dr Walker researched the relationship between adiponectin and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

Before relocating to Canberra, Dr Walker worked as a staff specialist Hepatologist at Concord hospital in Sydney. Her clinical interests include chronic liver disease, viral hepatitis, and hepatocellular carcinoma. Dr Walker is skilled in performing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, and hepatic transient elastography (Fibroscan). With a reputation for delivering highly effective treatment to her patients, Dr Walker is recognized as a highly accomplished professional in her field.
