Dr Robert Magotti

Dr Robert Magotti is a highly skilled and experienced gynaecologist based in Blacktown, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. With a strong background in Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Sonography, he is dedicated to providing the best possible care to his patients.

Dr Magotti obtained his Bachelor's degree in Medicine in 1986 and went on to complete his Master's degree in Medicine with a specialization in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in 1994. He also holds a Master's degree in Public Health from MEDUNSA in South Africa, which he earned in 2003.

After working as a Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in Tanzania and Botswana, Dr Magotti moved to Australia in 2005. Since then, he has held various roles in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, but his true passion lies in ultrasound. In 2009 and 2010, he was fortunate to be awarded a Trainee Fellowship position at the Christopher Kohlenberg Department of Perinatal Ultrasound at Nepean Hospital in Sydney, NSW. This opportunity allowed him to enhance his skills in all aspects of ultrasound.

Dr Magotti's dedication and expertise in the field of ultrasound led to his recognition as a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) in 2011. He also holds a Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound (O/G) from the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (ASUM).

To further advance his knowledge, Dr Magotti completed a Master of Science in Obstetrics and Gynaecology Ultrasound from Cardiff University, UK in 2016. This advanced degree has equipped him with the latest techniques and research in the field.

In his current role as a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) at Nepean Hospital, Dr Magotti continues to provide exceptional care to his patients. He is also committed to research and teaching, serving as an Assistant Lecturer with the University of Sydney. Dr Magotti is particularly interested in the use of ultrasound in obstetrics and gynaecology, with special expertise in prenatal diagnosis and screening, first-trimester screening for aneuploidy, anomaly scans, foetal growth assessment, and invasive procedures such as chorionic villus sampling, amniocentesis, sonohysterogram, and HYCOSY.
