Prof Rina Hui is an accomplished Clinical Professor at the University of Sydney, with over two decades of experience in medical oncology. She is also a Senior Medical Oncologist at the Crown Princess Mary Cancer Centre, Westmead Hospital. Rina completed her medical degree at the University of Sydney and pursued advanced training at Royal North Shore Hospital. Subsequently, she received a PhD degree focusing on translational research in molecular biology of breast cancer at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research.
Currently, her primary clinical interests are in lung cancer and breast cancer management. She is Co-Chair of Oncology Block at the University of Sydney and the Head of Clinical Trials at the Westmead Breast Cancer Institute. Rina is an esteemed member of the clinical advisory board and research advisory committee of the Westmead Breast Cancer Institute. She is also a member of the Medical Oncology Group of Australia Expert Group for lung cancer and the Breast Cancer Trials and the Australasian Lung Cancer Trials Group. In 2018, she served as a member of the Immuno-Oncology Program Committee for the World Conference for Lung Cancer and now serves as a member of the ESMO 2021 scientific committee.
Rina is the principal investigator for many clinical trials in lung and breast cancers, including phase I, II, and III clinical studies of immunotherapy and targeted therapies in non-small cell lung cancer and breast cancer. Through her work, Rina is committed to developing innovative treatment strategies that enable better patient outcomes. She is a well-respected authority in her field, and she continues to inspire future generations of oncologists and medical professionals through her teaching, research, and mentoring of young scholars.
