Meet Dr Patrick McQuillan, a highly experienced upper gastrointestinal, bariatric and general surgeon. Completing his General Surgical training in the Hunter Region, he underwent further subspecialty training at renowned upper GI referral centres specialising in cancer, bariatrics and benign upper GI conditions. His training saw him work at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and the largest upper GI cancer centre in Europe, the Royal Victoria Infirmary.
Dr McQuillan offers his patients a range of surgical procedures including weight loss surgery, anti-reflux and hiatus hernia surgery, revisional bariatric surgery, stomach and oesophageal cancer surgery (employing minimally invasive techniques when suitable), plus more. This entails surgery for achalasia, upper endoscopy (including EMR for Barrett's), gallbladder surgery and groin and abdominal hernia surgery.
Committed to delivering the highest quality care to his patients, Dr McQuillan maintains a public appointment at the John Hunter Hospital and Belmont Hospital where he welcomes referrals sent via fax, email or Medical Objects to Sea Change Weight Loss Clinic. He also sees public patients at the John Hunter Hospital Outpatient Clinics.
