Dr Matthew Lau

Dr Matthew Lau is an experienced obstetrician and gynaecologist who graduated from The University of Melbourne in 2000. He pursued further training at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Singapore and obtained his degree of Master of Medicine (O&G) from Singapore and the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (United Kingdom) in 2007.

Since returning to Australia in 2015, Dr Lau has worked in Monash Health and Women's at Sandringham, and he is currently a staff specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Monash Health. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

Dr Lau is passionate about fertility treatment and advanced keyhole (laparoscopic) surgery, and he has received various awards for his exemplary performance in public service during his career as a specialist. His vision is to provide individualised patient care that exceeds expectations and he constantly dedicates himself to ongoing learning and keeping up to date with the ever-changing technological advances in the field of Gynaecology.

Dr Lau has many years of experience in gynaecological surgery, with a particular focus on minimally invasive surgery/gynae-endoscopy surgery. He also enjoys training and mentoring junior doctors and passing on his knowledge and expertise. Dr Lau is dedicated to providing the highest standard of care to his patients, and his compassionate and empathetic approach makes him a trusted and respected practitioner in his field.
