Dr Lorenzo Tarquinio

Dr Lorenzo Tarquinio is an experienced gastroenterologist who specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal and liver diseases. With a strong focus on patient-centered care, he offers comprehensive services in all aspects of general gastroenterology, including irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease. He is highly skilled in performing upper gastrointestinal endoscopies and colonoscopies and welcomes consultations for patients requiring pre-procedural assessments and follow-up care. Dr Tarquinio has a keen interest in hepatology and has a vast experience in the management of chronic hepatitis B and C infections. He is also proficient in the assessment of various liver-related conditions, including unexplained abnormal liver function tests, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, alcoholic liver disease, autoimmune liver disease, and liver lesions such as hepatocellular carcinoma. Dr Tarquinio graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1992 and commenced his gastroenterology training in 1999. Upon returning to Perth in 2002, he was appointed as a sessional consultant at Royal Perth Hospital and visiting hepatologist to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. Despite relinquishing his teaching hospital appointments in 2015, Dr Tarquinio has continued to be involved in medical student teaching through the University of Notre Dame, Fremantle, Medical School.
