Dr Kurinji Kannan

Dr Kurinji Kannan is an exceptionally skilled Obstetrician & Gynaecologist with a specialization in Urogynaecology. She completed her training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, followed by advanced training in Urogynaecology under the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG). Dr Kannan has extensive experience working in some of the largest tertiary hospitals across Australia and New Zealand, including National Women's Hospital, Auckland City Hospital, Middlemore Hospital in New Zealand, and King Edward Memorial Hospital in Perth, Western Australia.

Dr Kannan holds a unique distinction of being the first female doctor from North Queensland to be selected for RANZCOG's Urogynaecology subspecialty program. As one of the few female urogynaecologists in Australia and New Zealand, she is highly regarded in her field. Her exceptional work in the field was recognized when she was awarded the prestigious Dr Kohlenberg medal for original research by young O&G fellows in Queensland and New South Wales in 2010.

In addition to her research interests, Dr Kannan has a passion for teaching and enjoys sharing her knowledge with medical students, registrars, and visiting medical consultants. Her expertise in minimally invasive procedural techniques makes her a valuable resource for others in the field.
