Dr Desmond Chih

Dr. Desmond Chih is an experienced Infectious Diseases Physician and Clinical Microbiologist, serving at Joondalup Health Campus, Rockingham, and Fremantle Hospitals. He graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1997 and completed his studies in Infectious Diseases and Microbiology in 2008 and 2009, respectively.

Dr. Chih gained a wealth of clinical and laboratory experience while working in northern Western Australia and the Northern Territory during his training. He served as a Consultant Infectious Diseases Physician at Rockingham General and Fremantle Hospitals. Since joining Western Diagnostic Pathology as a Clinical Microbiologist in 2009, he has established himself as a valuable member of the team.

Dr. Chih brings immense knowledge and expertise to his roles, where he is involved in diagnosing and treating infectious diseases caused by bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms. He also provides clinical microbiology services to support patient care, including interpreting laboratory results and providing guidance on optimal antimicrobial therapy. Dr. Chih is committed to providing quality patient care and uses the latest technologies to ensure the best possible outcomes for his patients.
