Dr Daya Sharma

Dr Daya Sharma is an experienced consultant ophthalmologist based in Miranda, New South Wales, Australia. With a special interest in cataract surgery, refractive surgery (including LASIK and implantable lenses), and corneal surgery, Dr. Sharma is known for his diligent and individualized approach, providing a range of options to suit each patient's desired outcome.

Dr. Sharma holds a B.Sc (Med.) (Hons. I), a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), and a Master of Science (M.Sc). He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO) and has undergone specialised fellowship training in multiple laser systems for the correction of myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. He is also recognized for his expertise in corneal topography and tomography.

Dr. Sharma obtained his education from the University of New South Wales, graduating with Honors Class I. He then received his ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital. Furthering his knowledge and skills, Dr. Sharma pursued fellowship training at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. He also conducted research in transplantation immunology at Harvard Medical School and corneal disease at UNSW.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Sharma is an active scientific reviewer for esteemed journals such as the Journal of Cataract & Refractive Surgery and Cornea. He also serves as an examiner for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) in Optics and the OBCK.
