Dr Christopher Morrey

As a highly experienced general Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr Morrey specialises in acute trauma, post-traumatic limb reconstruction, pelvic and acetabular surgery, hip and knee arthroplasty, and spinal surgery. With a special interest in acute sports injury, he offers patients a comprehensive approach to treating their injury and restoring their function.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Morrey is actively involved in advancing the field of Orthopaedics. He currently holds the position of 1st Vice President of the Australian Orthopaedic Association and will become the President in November 2022. He serves on several committees, including the Audit and Risk Committee, Rural Surgeons Committee, Subspecialty Committee, and is the immediate past Chair of the Cultural and Diversity Committee of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.

As a testament to his expertise, Dr Morrey is also a current examiner for the fellowship exam of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons. He has previously served as the chairperson of the Specialist Clinical and Advisory group. Additionally, Dr Morrey is an Associate Professor at James Cook University, where he uses his knowledge and experience to teach the next generation of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
