The health industry is a $217 trillion-plus global asset class, yet it has been largely untouched by technology. Making decisions on and about your health are among the most important a person can make in life, but today, the majority of those decisions are based on gut instincts or outdated information. At Zable, we believe that doctors—and their patients—deserve better.

By combining the solutions-driven mindset of a startup and the sophistication of a luxury brand, we’re building the operating system for healthcare. We empower doctors and patients from start to finish by developing innovative digital tools and customised marketing strategies. Why? Because we know that when doctors can spend more time building relationships with patients, everyone wins.

The Problem: The Australian healthcare system is fragmented and lacks a critical value chain.

Fragmented care occurs when different healthcare providers and healthcare organisations do not work well together – this lack of collaboration is the result of each healthcare provider working within their own silo.

The effect of fragmentation creates considerable inefficiencies, largely due to the fact that most healthcare professionals in Australia do not have a shared electronic health record or information infrastructure to effectively coordinate care – this, in turn, causes complications in the coordination between different specialties and creates additional time and effort for effective referrals.

Additionally, we’re in a more transient society. General Practitioners are a patient’s ‘first port of call’ when it comes to healthcare - in other words, they are the gatekeepers. GPs play a vital role in the triage of our health. However, with fragmentation, they too suffer from a lack of control and choice — this is compounded by the fact that 45% of Australian-based GPs are now trained overseas (according to the “General Practitioner workforce report 2022” prepared by Deloitte), meaning the traditional personal relationships between specialists they heavily relied upon is becoming increasingly uncommon.

Zable’s solution is addressing this problem by challenging the status quo - by quickly and clearly providing patients with critical decision-making information and creating a newly formed bloodline between healthcare providers.

Our mission is to make healthcare simpler, faster—and, most importantly, more accessible for all Australians, which will prevent avoidable complications and/or premature death.

A path forward with Telehealth services

The human body doesn’t follow normal business hours — and neither do we. Zable is building towards on-demand 24/7 care over video chat or messages anytime and potentially skip an unnecessary and expensive trip to the emergency department. Our platform also makes it easy to book appointments, renew prescriptions, and message providers anytime, so you don’t have to play phone tag.

We think healthcare is high on the list of experiences that need reinvention. Booking an appointment, waiting weeks or even months to be seen, taking time off work, driving to a clinic, finding a parking spot, waiting in the waiting room then the exam room for what is too often a rushed few minutes with a doctor, then making another trip to a pharmacy—we see lots of opportunity to both improve the quality of the experience and give people back valuable time in their days.

We love inventing to make what should be easy easier, and we want to be one of the companies that helps dramatically improve the healthcare experience over the next several years. Together with Zable’s human-centred and technology-powered approach to healthcare, we believe we can and will help more people get better care, when and how they need it.
