Dr Rakesh Iyer

Dr. Iyer is an experienced Consultant Physician and renowned Endocrinologist. As the Director of Deakin Specialists, Dr. Iyer provides compassionate and evidence-based medical care to help patients with endocrine disorders achieve optimal physical and mental health. Having completed his medical training in India, Dr. Iyer has spent several years working and training in the UK and Australia. Dr. Iyer's specialty training in Endocrinology was completed at The Canberra Hospital and ANZAC Research Institute in Sydney. Currently, he holds the position of a Staff Specialist at Calvary Public Hospital, Bruce, and Clinical Lecturer at ANU Medical school. In addition, Dr. Iyer is committed to educating and mentoring the next generation of medical professionals. As a supervisor and mentor for medical students, interns, and physician trainees, he helps them develop the skills to provide the best possible care to their patients. Dr. Iyer also serves as a local examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians specialty examinations. Dr. Iyer's expertise lies in all aspects of Endocrinology and Diabetes, including Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes, insulin pump therapy, adrenal, pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid, and androgen deficiency.
