Hamish Anderson is a highly regarded Occupational Therapist, specializing in hand therapy, who graduated from La Trobe University in 1995. With over two decades of experience, he initially honed his skills in New York, focusing on hand injury management for five years. In 2001, Hamish became a Certified Hand Therapist, and he achieved full accreditation with the Australian Hand Therapy Association in 2017. His dedication to the field has led to significant contributions in both practical and academic realms. Upon returning to Australia in 2002, Hamish established a private hand therapy practice, while also serving as the senior clinician in hand therapy at St. Vincent’s Hospital. After a family sabbatical in 2012, he expanded his practice to four independent clinics across Melbourne’s eastern and northern suburbs. His expertise extends to sports medicine and complex wrist trauma, making him a sought-after consultant for professional athletic organizations. Since 2013, he has been the resident hand therapist for the renowned Hawthorn Football Club, and he regularly collaborates with Tennis Australia and various professional sports bodies. Hamish Anderson is also a published author, co-authoring chapters in the esteemed “Clinical Sports Medicine” by Brukner and Khan, as well as contributing to numerous respected surgical and rehabilitation journals. In addition to his clinical work, he serves as the President of the Australian Hand Therapy Association, championing the profession and supporting fellow hand therapists.
